As the saying goes, a dog is a human’s best friend and as friends, we must care for each other. Just in time for the jolly season, we decided to create a list of off-leash dog parks in Ridge Meadows that your good boys and girls can enjoy, to the fullest.
Whether you have a dog who is an introvert or extrovert, we’ve found something for them!
Maple Ridge
1. Beckett Park
Located on 11683 223 St., this park is home to multiple facilities but the off-leash dog area is a standout. The park opened its doors virtually in 2020 and might have been off-radar for many dog owners!
2. Albion Fairgrounds
You might know this park as a host of the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Country Fest but, this park has a dedicated playing ground for doggos. Located on 23588 Jim Robson Way, Albion Fairgrounds has a fully-fenced and gated off-leash area as well as a separate one for little dogs.
3. Maple Ridge Upper Park
Did you know that a few miles walk from Maple Ridge Park, is Maple Ridge Upper Park with dedicated space for dogs to be themselves? Located at 13165 at 236 Street, it features a fully fenced and double-gated off-leash area for dogs and owners to enjoy.
4. Hammond Dog Off-leash Area
Whether you have a small dog or a big one, this park is another great option for both as it has dedicated playing areas for them. The dedicated dog park, located on 20015 Wharf Street, was developed in 2018. And of course, it’s all enclosed space!
5. Westview Park
A fully-fenced and double-gated dog area located at 20950 Wicklund Avenue might be a park for introverted/shy dogs because you might find this one empty or less busy than others, at least that’s what one visitor shared online.
6. Jerry Sulina Park
Although a small park, this one is a rural park that is close to water, with tall grass that your little fur babies will enjoy playing in. Located on 13180 210 Street, the scenery of this park makes it all the more impressive. In fact, some tout it as one of the best off-leash dog parks in the Lower Mainland!
Pitt Meadows
1. North Bonson Park
Your dogs will love this open space for playing on any given day. Located on 121 block Blakely Road, this park is a dog-owner favourite. Not only is it fenced and gated, but there is also drinking water available for your dogs, too. You can walk your dog on the leash optional dike trail from Pitt River Bridge to the Pitt Meadows Marina or on the dike trail from the north end of Harris Road.
2. Hoffman Park
A playground for kids, walking trails and an off-leash dog area are some of the facilities available at Hoffman Park. Located on 19100 122 Avenue, this small park is considered a pleasant space to enjoy yourself and let your fur buddy have fun, too.
