Summers are not long in Vancouver, thanks to the rain but while we’re here, there’s a lot happening around for you to enjoy in Ridge Meadows.
Maple Ridge
Whether you’re looking for a bounce park, family games night or summer concerts, there are Happenings events every Wednesday and Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Don’t forget the mouth-watering food trucks on-site!
Every Saturday, buy fresh produce, indulge in some sugary goodness and support local vendors at the Haney Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Prepare your snacks, blankets and chairs as the outdoor summer movie nights are back at the Albion Community Centre on Saturday, July 9 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Music on the Wharf is a volunteer-run concert series organized by Maple Ridge Museum every second and fourth Monday from July 11 to August 22 at the Port Haney Wharf from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Weather permitting.
Summer is synonymous with live music so, if you’re not an evening person, enjoy Lunchtime Concert Series organized by Downtown Maple Ridge Business Association every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Memorial Peace Park.
For those interested in learning Zumba this summer, free sessions will take place at the Port Haney Wharf starting July 13 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. – that’s some exercising with a view!
The Maple Ridge Public Library has created a plan to keep kids busy this summer – storytime, reading club and hands-on activities are included.
To make sure you are thoroughly entertained, Music in the Park by Variete D’Arts Society will bring you the best of the local music scene starting July 18 from 6:30 p.m. onwards at Memorial Peace Park.
If you miss the performance of As You Like It, you can catch it at the Memorial Peace Park Bandstand from July 21 to 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Pitt Meadows
A break from the music, knitting and stitching, as you sit with like-minded people? Sounds like therapy to me. Starting July 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. bring your supplies and learn a new skill at the Pitt Meadows Public Library, open for all ages.
Let your imagination run wild with the self-led art sessions to motivate you and share ideas every Tuesday and Wednesday at the Bonson Open Art Studio from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Obviously, summer is incomplete without some live music. Bruce James Orchestra along with other talented performers are set to take the stage at the Summer Serenade series, happening every Wednesday till August 24 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Spirit Square.
Aside from music, Shakespeare’s As You Like It will be performed for Bard on the Bandstand at Spirit Square from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. from July 14 to 16.
