The Ridge Meadows Flames eliminated the Mission City Outlaws from the PJHL playoffs for the second straight season on Tuesday night.

Nolan Bowsher, a Langley native, scored two goals and added an assist in the 5-3 victory that sealed a 4-0 sweep in the best-of-seven series.

Pitt Meadows’ Zack Lagrange also picked up a goal in the win. Lagrange led all Ridge Meadows skaters in the series with seven points.

The win booked the Flames a ticket to their third consecutive Harold Brittain Conference Finals, and extended the team’s record breaking season.

Ridge Meadows finished the regular season atop the conference with a 41-4-3 record. The mark set a new franchise record for most wins in a season, and was the second most wins by a club in the 58-year history of the PJHL.

“We’ve cultivated a really strong team culture the last number of years,” said Derek Bedard, general manager of the Ridge Meadows Flames.

Last season, the Flames came within one game of winning the Stonehouse Cup. There are nearly a dozen returning players from that team who are eager to win the title this year.

“It’s a very motivated group of athletes,” Bedard said. “We’re super blessed with our coaching staff as well… We got good people here that are investing in the athletes.”

The Flames will play either the Langley Trappers or Chilliwack Jets in the conference finals. As of Wednesday afternoon, Chilliwack had a 3-2 advantage in the series.
